For my side-project I was thinking of creating a server-based inventory system for the entire district, as opposed to the spreadsheets that we currently use. This would give me a great excuse to learn PHP and SQL (was thinking of using MySQL for the database). I'd like to discuss this further when you have the time.
Unangst: Let's initially concentrate on our existing inventory.

For my individual project, I will create a database-driven catalog of Woodridge technology.
The catalog will be run on a MySQL database using PHP. I will use an existing open-source system, modified for this purpose.
Goals:
- Locate a sufficient open-source software for modification
-Create a project name.
-Set up a PHP/MySQL (XAMP or LAMP) test box
-Learn PHP/MySQL skills
-Modify existing software
-Perform torture-test
-Determine a way to host system.
-Locate a laptop to keep in WMS Graveyard for inventory purposes
-System goes live. Log errors and bugs, improve stability.
-Determine feasibility of a barcode-scanning system for asset tags. Talk to Treasurer to see where asset tags come from.
-Create barcode-scanning system for catalog.
-Purchase barcode scanner
-Torture-test barcode system
-Barcode system goes live
-Continually provide maintenance for system.
Current Progress:
Steps 1 and 2 to be completed by TWE Meeting on 11/13
