What should be included on all fresh images (computers) | ||||||||||
| 1. Windows XP fully updated during install choose custom, make student to be your user, select local LAN | |||||||||||
| for internet service, give computer name during the install (wxsrmxxxnumxx) the wxs would be the building initials, | |||||||||||
| change workgroup name to Woodridge. | |||||||||||
| 2. set computer updates to automatically download and let user select when to install | |||||||||||
| 3. Go into manage and make the three users administrator, teacher (member of power users) and student (member | |||||||||||

4. Novell client 4.91 w/service pk then Log in as Tweclass then as administrator and let the client update and install SAV. |

| g. Right click on the screen and choose arrange icons by type, right click on the screen choose | |||||||||||

| 16. remove administrative rights from teacher and student (and math?) | |||||||||||

Also to help with our instilation of open source programs such as firefox ,the gimp, and other similar open source applications we can use a server based application such as installpad wich will allow us to chose which programs to install by checking the box next to it then it is as easy as walking away and leting it do it stuff.

As my career as a twe student comes to an end so must my first individual project. Over the course of this year i have been involved with alot of the imaging that we have done(when it was actualy working properly) in that process i realized a few things with our images that are lacking and not reaching there full potental some of those things i have made the changes on the "check list" above such as switching from IE to firefox for numerous reasons such as the coviniant tab browsing and the quick link buttons on the top of the browser. Even tho the new IE has these features there is no subsutute for the original. Also with the update feature that Mr.U has been working on with the Novell client will be part of the settings we will have to tweak when we do the individual user settings.
Well this concludes my three years as a TWE is been a great time and i as i am sure the other seinors to will miss it .
