Training Topic #2 - Gadgets 101 (How to make stuff from junk - soldering iron).

This week we'll be discussing how you can make a fun gadget out of ordinary discarded items. 

TWE students will be encouraged to bring in their own creations to share, as well as soldering irons and misc. items to donate for future projects.

 

Mr. Unangst will bring:

  • Old School Headphone Mod
  • Arduino - Portable, programable USB CPU (see picture below)

  • LCDsmartie - A custom LCD screen for displaying computer information, stats, news, rss feeds, eBay stats - anything.
  • Mr. Unangst will showcase how he used custom code to create a PHP script which logs into the HelpDesk and displays our current tickets. 
  • Possible source for project code: Output mySQL data as XML with PHP

     

Review existing helpdesk tickets.

MONG: There are 4 or 5 imaged computers in the back of the library when you go to a school check the pulled equipment list before you go and replace a machine on that list then take it off the list and add it to the bottom where it says done.Nik V. and I will be doing more imaging next week so lets make it a habit to do that then we can get that list down and all the teachers back up and running.
