POST Imaging Checklist...                                           

1. Windows XP fully updated during install choose custom, make student to be your user, select local LAN                                                     

for internet service, give computer name during the install (wxsrmxxxnumxx) the wxs would be the building initials,                                                     

change workgroup name to Woodridge.                                                    

2. set computer updates to automatically download and let user select when to install                                                    

3. Go into manage and make the three users administrator, teacher (member of power users) and student (member                                                     

of users), initially let all three also belong to administrator users group                                                    

4. Novell client 4.91 w/service pk 2                                                    

5. install Office 2003 and fully update turning on Microsoft's new updater                                                    

6. Install GroupWise 7 client (tweclass drive mapping for each building setup found inside win 32 directory),                                                     

do the space/@U-?, undo notify                                                    

8. Install remote management software via \\Wms_server\Volume1\Client                                                    

7. SAV 9.01 client (tweclass drive mapping for each building)                                                    

8. Acrobat Reader 7 updated (help/updates)                                                    

9. Windows media player and Realplayer                                                    

10. Newest Flash and Shockwave Player                                                    

12. QuickTime                                                    

14. delete the games folder from Programs                                                    

15. for each user                                                    

a.      boot browser and set home page to www.woodridge.k12.oh.us , clear cookies and files, clear history,                                                     

set history for 10 days, apply                                                    

b.      right click on screen choose properties: change all setting to windows classic, change desktop                                                     

to none, in screen saver select none and click on power then make all selections never, select                                                     

background then none                                                    

c.      click on the start menu the right click on the menu, select classic view                                                    

d.      boot Acrobat Reader and unclick splash screen under edit/preferences/startup                                                    

e.      go to Programs select Word and let it install, then close after completed install, go to start                                                     

and select new office file and select blank Word-this is a check to make sure install was complete.                                                    

f.        Delete the desktop QuickTime shortcut                                                    

g.      Right click on the screen and choose arrange icons by type, right click on the screen choose                                                     

arrange and auto arrange the icons                                                    

h.      If whs math software was installed, make math a member of math software group    remove administrative rights from teacher and student (and at wms, math)                                                

16. remove administrative rights from teacher and student (and math?)                                                    

17. For laptop users leave the advanced button left on and for desktop users  take the advance button off
